Accela
Accela is the permitting software platform many Florida jurisdictions — including Sarasota County — use to run applications, plan review, inspections, and records. When builders talk about "the portal," in much of Southwest Florida they mean an Accela system.
In plain English
Each jurisdiction configures Accela differently: record types, statuses, and resubmittal mechanics vary, and a file that looks "in review" can actually be waiting on you. Step-by-step portal reading is covered in how to check Sarasota County permit status.
Portal-watching is exactly the babysitting we automate — permit tracking monitors status changes daily so a comment never sits unnoticed while your schedule burns.
Why it matters on a Florida build
Files don't stall loudly; they stall silently in a portal nobody checked. We watch the portal so you don't have to — that's often the whole difference between a two-week and a six-week review.
